My name is Ali and I live in Dublin, Ohio. I am a mom to two teen boys and married to a great man. Every woman should be so lucky.
I started this blog thinking I would collect and share recipes and anything else that spills out of my home. Life in my house revolves around the kitchen. It’s where my boys do their homework, it’s where we gather as a family for meals and where we entertain our family, friends and neighbors.
I love trying out new recipes and my friends and family enjoy being my taste testers. For everyday living, I like to prepare dishes that take little time, where the ingredients are easy to find at the local grocer and above all, taste good.
I enjoy food that is easy to make with simple ingredients. No one wants to spend all day in the kitchen. I love trying out new recipes and my friends and family enjoy being my taste testers. I grill, bake, sauté, fry, cook - you name it. Good food is about all food and it should be delicious and satisfying and something anyone with limited cooking skills can pull off. I like to feature recipes that you can make any day of the year.
In the year and a half since launching Home & Plate, I've come to realize that many of the recipes I have created and photographed are focused around fresh fruit and vegetables. In my family we eat fresh produce regularly and it's a part of every meal. It's how I grew up.
"Eat more fruits and vegetables" has been ingrained in our every day eating habits. Eating a diet rich in fruits and vegetables is how I keep my family healthy. And it taste good too! The benefits are plenty. Fruits and vegetables contain healthy nutrients, vitamins and minerals, can help reduce the risk of chronic diseases and cancers, and are necessary for health and maintenance of your body. That's not to say I don't enjoy other foods too. You will find a plenty of indulgences on my blog.
Our recipe box is growing and I hope to share some of my collection of flavors with you.
