This delicious banana peach smoothie is made with fresh picked peaches and blended with Greek yogurt and ginger for a great way to start the morning.
There’s nothing like the taste of fresh picked sweet juicy peaches to start your day.
That’s why this banana peach smoothie is such a sweet treat in the mornings.
Add in Greek yogurt, mix it all together and you have yourself a power breakfast.
I prefer to use freshly cut chunks of peaches over frozen because fresh is always better.
How to make a smoothie creamy?
It can be a challenge to create the perfect smoothie that is not to thick or not too runny.
I love a good smoothie but I am not a fan of using ice when making it because there are always chunks of ice that just don’t blend.
Unless you have a powerful blender, you run the risk of an icy smoothie. Adding frozen fruit can also be a challenge.
The trick to a smooth and creamy smoothie is being selective with which fruit you freeze.
Bananas and blueberries work well.
Many times I will slice up a banana the night before. Just be sure to stick to fresh peaches for that “just picked taste.” Plus, they blend easier when fresh.
For this recipe, I used frozen vanilla Greek yogurt in the smoothies to get the slushy consistency I wanted.
I freeze the yogurt the night before. It’s an easy trick to a thicker smoothie.
Then I let the container sit in a pan of hot water for about 5-10 minutes before chunking it up with a fork.
This is how my kids prefer it and it provides the perfect slushy smoothie that’s easy to slurp down with a straw.
What I love about this simple banana peach smoothie recipe is that you can always double or even triple the ingredients and what you don’t finish for breakfast can be poured into Popsicle molds for frozen treats anytime.
Variations to this Banana Peach Smoothie?
Add protein powder. I love the unflavored protein powder made my Tera’s Whey and a scoop is really all you need to a healthy protein boost.
Mix in nut butters. Add a tablespoon of almond or peanut butter for a thicker consistency.
Switch up your liquids. Not a fan of orange juice or maybe it’s too sweet? Try almond milk or even regular milk in place of the OJ.
Add grains. Oatmeal is an easy way to add fiber and protein to a smoothie. Just start by grinding or blending the oatmeal to a powder first before adding the rest of the smoothie ingredients to the blender.
