The Best Knorr Spinach Dip Recipe in a Bread Bowl

Chilled and creamy spinach dip: the refreshing twist you need for your appetizer spread. Perfectly cool, it pairs beautifully with crunchy veggies, crackers, or warm bread.

This cold spinach dip recipe is creamy and freshly made using Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.  It’s a crowd favorite served in a crusty bread bowl.

This easy party dip promises to be a huge hit at your next game day celebration.

It’s one of the easiest appetizers to make with just a few ingredients.

It’s cold and creamy and has the best flavor. I like to serve it alongside other finger foods when hosting friends and family.

A lot of people prefer this classic Knorr spinach dip with sour cream but I like to substitute plain Greek Yogurt instead.

It’s a healthier alternative and just tangier than the original recipe. See the full recipe card below.

Recipe ingredients

Grab these simple ingredients from the grocery store.

Spinach. Frozen, chopped spinach is easiest to work with. If you prefer fresh spinach, heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, add one pound (about 1-2 cups) of packed spinach, with the large stems removed. Cook for a few minutes until the spinach just wilts.

Water chestnuts. Despite their name, water chestnuts are not nuts. They are aquatic tuber vegetables grown in marshes, ponds, paddy fields, and shallow lakes. They have a crisp, white flesh that can be enjoyed both raw and cooked. Look for them canned in the Asian or International aisle of your grocery store.

Greek yogurt. I prefer plain Greek yogurt to sour cream, but either works for this Knorr spinach dip recipe.

Mayonnaise. You’ll need one cup mayo, so grab your favorite brand of full fat or light mayonnaise.

Knorr vegetable mix. Be sure to grab the dip seasonings and not the soup mix.

Green onions. These are optional. Not everyone likes onions. If you do, grab a bunch.

Boule of sturdy bread. Grab a round loaf of bread from the bakery. This dip is delicious in sourdough, pumpernickel, rye or crusty Italian loaf.

How to make this creamy dip

  1. Drain the frozen spinach, squeezing out any excess moisture or sauté fresh spinach in a skillet.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, Knorr vegetable mix, and chopped water chestnuts.
  3. Stir in the spinach until well combined.
